Painted between the years 1632 and 1646, the Passion series is one of Rembrandt's finest accomplishments. This volume investigates a work known as the Entombment Sketch--actually a beautiful finished painting, and the jewel of the Hunterian Art Gallery's collection. Drawing from paint samples, new high definition imagery, and other technical findings, this volume thoroughly explores the provenance of the painting.
