This is the first exhaustive monograph of the work of Anselme Boix-Vives (1899 - 1969) born in the province of Castellon de la Plana, Sapin.

Anselme Boix-Vives is a tremendous artist, totally in tune with his time. An artist, who produces "art brut", for those who would seek a label for his work, but, above all, an artists in the fullest and deepest sense: rather than translate reality into painting, he fully recreates it in all its whimsy and existential significance. Delving into his consciousness, he comes up with a whole language of universal forms, serving to express dreams, magic, alchemy, whirlwinds, floods, fragrances, Mother Nature... Images that seem to revise an enrich Jung himself. This artist's unbridled approach places his work in the highest tradition of rock art, given the originality of the at once highly Baroque and stylized forms that are the fruit of his pictorial inventivity. His animals, his humans, his familiar scenes exist on the fringes of time and space. Anselme Boix-Vives is an artist who will endure, asserting himself with all the ferocity and voracity it takes to do so.
