Biennale della fotografia femminile. Legacy

The Biennale of Female Photography is held for its second edition in Mantua in March 2022. Conceived by the Association La Papessa, under the artistic direction of Alessia Locatelli, it's an event that will bring, in the official program, 15 exhibitions of Italian and international photographers in historical and private locations in the city of Mantua and 9 exhibitions of photographers selected through an Open call. In addition, the Photo Festival will offer talks, portfolio readings and workshops.
The theme of the second edition of the Biennale is "Legacy", a term with a broad meaning. Looking at the inner lives of families, our DNA, the current debate on our environmental impact, as well as our architectural and cultural heritage, we reflect on the idea of legacy. What did previous generations leave us? And what will we do with it as a consequence?
