"This compilation of texts, much like the content on which it speculates, rests somewhere 'in the middle': in the middle of a practice and of a process. Between 2006 and 2016, Cramerotti has amassed a great many pieces of short form text. Some concomitant to exhibitions, some forewording monographs, and some commissioned in relation to international projects and symposia. Despite differing in their inception, their intention is consistent: to reflect, take stock and push deeper into an issue compelling longitudinal contemplation. Oscillating between chance and design, this collection of forewords now sits as both a retrospective gaze at how art, media and other seemingly disparate disciplines are now sufficiently embroiled so as to create a meta-system for approaching, categorizing and understanding. This process of writing as reflection on and as conjecture towards has characterized both his writing style and his curatorial practice. [...] This collection of short essays sometimes dances around issues and takes an oblique approach to the subject. Nevertheless serving to augment our understanding of the idea. What is unique about this book is thirty five pieces of writing, now approaching one theme, which, due to the nature of the commissioning of the individual texts, all enter the subject from different points, with differing influences and different special/ temporal considerations."
