The liberal socialism is the theorethical-political formula that Carlo Rosselli (1899-1937) worked out between the 20´s and the 30´s, after a careful and the doctrines of the Italian socialism. With Rosselli, socialism and liberalism came to a meeting point through a harsh criticism of marxism and by claiming democratic, pluralistic and voluntary character of socialism. Leader of the European antifascist movement, Rosselli was murdered by fascists in France, along with his brother Nello, on 9th June 1937. Besides a political leader, he was an original thinker whose ideas still rise an historio-graphical interest not only in Italy but also abroad.
