Gert Wingårdh was born in Skövde, a relatively small city in central Sweden, in 1951. He began his career in the middle 1970s at Johannes Olivegren?s architectural firm and opened his own firm in 1977, in Gothenburg. Throughout his career he has always aimed to propose designs giving both historical and contemporary sensations, guided by a sociological methodology which puts people?s usage of physical environment as a key of planning. During 2001, the large Science Universum in Gothenburg will be inaugurated.
