"There is no place for you in Heaven. Remember." This was the curse cast by a priest against a homosexual boy in a small church near Rome. His only "fault" was to ask for a blessing for a group of young gay Christians during a pilgrimage. Religo was born there, a project focused on the believing LGBTQ+ communities. A historical and visual journey through the emotions and lives of the protagonists who have personally experienced the difficult attempt to relate LGBTQ+ people, eager to be welcomed into a Church that is only now showing signs of openness, with the ecclesial communities. A journey through gatherings, parental loves, silences and clamors; episodes of a struggle for a spiritual right. The protagonists of Religo are above all boys between 18 and 30 years old, children of a mother who does not judge them, but equally does not recognize them as legitimate. Religo is a revolutionary project, since the mission of finding a place for a form of love for which a space was not foreseen in the traditional Church is revolutionary. It will really be putting the concept of love at the center to give back to the kids, to their families, the denied embrace.
