The series, subdivided in two sections 'Materiali' e 'Studi', hosts a series of monographic and miscellaneous works concerning the dramaturgia study, in Italy and in Europe, from its medieval origins till today. The subjects discussed examine both the theatre's development and transformations from time to time (from Middle Ages to the Renaissance and Baroque theatre and to the Twentieth-century style) and wider and more transverse cultural categories: from the relationships with the religion to the comic aspect's role, from the women's performance as actresses and authoresses to the theoretic and structural grounds of theatrical works.
In this way, we can permit the reader to consider the analysed subjects with various interpretative criteria, realizing the implicated reflection and methodological discussion.
