This is a unique collaboration between radical artist Heidi Hatry and 27 cutting edge female writers. 'Finding a way to be a woman is finding a way to live with fatal knowledge', says Catherine A. MacKinnon in her introduction to this distinctive volume. Heide Hatry is a New York-based German artist who has a penchant for focusing her radical artistic vision on difficult subjects that feed directly into our feelings of mortality, fear, alienation, and revulsion. In "Heads and Tales", Hatry uses 27 of her most striking sculptures, made from clay bases with pigskin, raw pig flesh and pigs eyes, to arouse 27 women writers from around the world to create stories that address our innermost emotions.
