This book contains a relentless sequence of photos, most of which have never been published before, of the more private, reserved Warhol. We see the artist as he climbs up the steps of an aeroplane, or in stolen pictures while, relaxed and smiling, he socialises with friends, Liz Taylor, John Lennon, Keith Haring, Liza Minnelli, Salvador Dalí, Robert Rauschenberg, to name but a few. We see him as he laughs heartily trying on a wig or pulling faces in front of a shop selling moccasins. In short, for the first time we see Andy Warhol as few people have the chance to and we unearth more of the many-sided person who left his mark on 20th century contemporary art like no other. The photographer is Christopher Makos, Warhol's long time friend and companion.
