The research documented in this volume collects the architectural designs developed for Berlin at Politecnico di Milano over the past five years. Berlin is assumed here as a unique city for its history, the intense debate that has accompanied it, but also far the topicality of the ongoing processes. The urban scale of the designs is based on some basic choices, whose foundations residc in that architecture of the city theorized by Aldo Rossi more than half a century ago and then put into practice as a concrete principle of intervention in cases of critical reconstrucrion during the IBA-Berlin directed by Josef Paul Kleihues during the 1980s and continued by the city administration as an intervention strategy on the city.
