The discovery of Colle del Forno cemetery on land destined for use by the CNR gave rise to an exhibition (1973) of the early culture of the Sabines in the Tiber Valley, and to a series of specialist colloquia on the problems of the Sabine territory in the pre-Roman period. These activities have renewed interest in a field of study that had previously received less attention than it deserved.
