Not all cities are lucky enough to have a "dedicated" photographer, like Giancarlo Gasponi is for Rome. For decades, this singular artist has dedicated himself to taking pictures of his city, from always new and stimulating angles. In this respect, Corrado Augias writes: "One wonders how Gasponi managed to find the extraordinary light to take these photos, what patience was needed to imprison in the lens the conditions of a moment and certain corners of the old quarters which appear intact like in a Roesler waterpainting or a Pinelli engraving.
