Il dipinto "Alla stanga" di Giovanni Segantini, uno dei pochissimi in collezione pubblica italiana, subí nel 1948 un atto vandalico e fu subito restaurato dall'Istituto Centrale del Restauro diretto da Cesare Brandi. L'intervento attuale, che ha confermato la piena efficacia del precedente, ha restituito piena leggibilità all'opera.
