This book is a homage to Rapallo, fruit of a desire to share and promote its treasures, history and local traditions. The essence and details of the work are summarized in the introduction by Colette Bozzo Dufour: "Rapallo: from today's news to past times. A history of land and sea". The chosen focus is on certain aspects of the overall history of Rapallo, examining the parts that have impacted the area in a broad sense, and more specifically, the landscape. The author explores the dialectic between land and sea, in line with the idea of landscape as history, and identifies the meaning of the landscape itself, in the logical relationship between urban layout, land use, the emergence of construction, monuments and artistic works. She is helped, in this broad work of observation, by experts who examine individual themes and specific monuments and features, living testimony of the complex phenomenon that we now call, simply, Rapallo.
