Born in Rome in 1960 Esposito has lived in New York and Berlin. Winner of a scholarship from the P.S.1 of New York she has taken part in International collections such as Documenta at Kassel (1997) and the Venice Biennial (1999) where she was awarded, together with other Italian artists, the Leone d'Oro for the best national offering. Her work is based on environmental interventions often in urban contexts, in which the destabilising element, with tones that range from the poetic to the ironic, is critical. Fundamental elements of her installations are often food, odours or sounds. These are real compositions and the result of the work she has done with musicians or writers. This is the first monograph entirely dedicated to her.
