Born in Vicenza in 1952, Pier Luigi Meneghello has lived and worked in Turin since the seventies. His first solo exhibition in the early eighties was held at Luciano Pistoi and Eva Menzio's gallery. Since then, his work has investigated the relationship between the environment and culture through the creation of installations that draw on elements from nature and science - birds' nests, vegetal resins, seismographs, electroencephalograms - brought together through painting, sculpture and photography. Since the mid-nineties, Meneghello has focused his efforts on creating grand narratives that continue to explore the nature/culture relationship through the production of videos, installations, and especially locations, or "sets," that the artist captures with large-format color photographs. These constitute the primary subject of this volume.
