Sironi is the artist who better represents the philosophical concept of modernity in the twentieth century. His vocation for monumental works is an essential element, an ethical desire to support the importance of the public use of art works, which have to be dedicated not only to individuals but also to community. In contact with history, Sironi becomes a courageous protagonist who believes in the active role of artists in the modern society. In the mural creations included here-about fifty works, from the '30s to the early '50s-the geniality of his plastic constructions is reflected in a synthesis of signs and ideas that is really extraordinary and unique in his contemporary environment.
