Remo Bianco (1922 - 1988), a Milanese artist, studied at the Academy of Brera and in Filippo de Pisis' atelier. He has inspired himself to the Mac group's painters and to Lucio Fontana, at the end of the 40s he started creating abstract works, often three-dimensional ones, by joining contrasting coloured enamels, plastic and cast metals. He has then approached the technique of collage, used to create bright and coloured polymateric “mosaics” inspired to the marbles and tiles of Oriental mosques. His has engaged himself in the artistical vangard research till the last years of his life, during which he invents performances and theatre shows always characterized by an attitude of free expression.

This volume, curated and realized thanks the engagement and indefatigable activity of Lyda, Remo Bianco's sister, gathers in twelve thematical sections a huge number of works of the Milanese artist. The curator reconstructs the artistical path of Remo Bianco in order to recover the place he deserves in XXth century art.
