ITALY AT THE SHANGHAI 2010 EXPO: THE PAVILION, THE CONCEPT, THE EXPO, ITALY'S REPRESENTATIVES, MADE IN ITALY AND EXCELLENCE CONJUGATED IN THE DIFFICULT THEME OF THE CONTEMPORARY CITY The 2010 Shanghai Universal Expo (1 May - 31 October) is the first ever to take the theme of city life. The Italian pavilion has been a runaway success, drawing incredible crowds with 40,000 visitors a day and earning Italy a place among the top five most visited pavilions. This is the story behind Giampaolo Imbrighi's project and the City of Man exhibition. The Italian lifestyle concept curated by Davide Rampello and staged by Giancarlo Basili. But above all the book symbolises Italy's success in establishing a dialogue with China and the visitors to the Expo by displaying the best of the country's heritage in a uniquely creative synthesis (Beniamo Quintieri).
