Jewels for Milan introduces forty jewels dedicated to Milan. Each jewel has been realized by designer and producers based in Lombardy that for the first time have worked together in order to dedicate a precious homage to Milan.
The 40 prototypes have been realized expressly for the exhibition and represent, according to Alba Cappellieri, curator and professor of jewellery design at the Politecnico di Milano, "the opportunity to combine people and ideas, masters and young designers, entrepreneurs and craftsmen, research and business, tradition and innovation, local and global from a system point of view that is typically of Lombardy. The same sistemical vision determined the acknowledgment of Milan the capital of fashion and of design. Also for the jewel the Milanese area introduces the same characters of excellence: the existence in the same territory of design, production, education, promotion and communication but, contrarily, to what happened for fashion and design , such forces have never been coagulated together neither have started projects on common strategies.
