This new journal presents research into narrative intended in the widest possible sense. It will engage both with the more traditional forms of novels and romances (with their subgenres and different phases of development) and with fiction in the modern media, by focusing on processes of transcodification and genre hybridization. Fictions will include articles in English and Italian and is mainly addressed to an Italian audience of scholars, teachers, students and all who are interested in the English-speaking cultures. Every issue centres on a single topic and contain four or five original contributions; these will be followed by a shorter section with Italian translations of work already published representing either new critical trends or classical but still controversial readings; finally, there will be a general up-dated bibliography on the topic of the issue, so that each number may also work as a thematic reference-book.
