This new journal creates an international arena where all scholars of Italian philology are invited to compare and discuss about philological texts in the strict sense of the word, that is, studies aimed at reconstructing the form or substance of a text or a selection thereof. So articles submitted to the journal concern specific problems relating to specific textual genres and to critical editions of individual Italian texts, both vernacular and Latin, and to individual textual types. Furthermore, interesting subjects are methodological issues and publishing aids (including computerized editions), including those from related fields (Classical and Medieval Latin or Romance philology, etc.), history of the trasmission and reception of texts, history of Italian and Romance philology, book reviews and bibliographic essays on philological subjects. In orde to ensure the high quality of the journal, the four editors have chosen an editorial board of reputable scholars working in Italy and abroad, who act as referees for articles in their respective fields of interest.
