"Historia Religionum. An International Journal" is an annual periodical which proposes itself as history of religions journal paying particular attention to a 'contemporaneity' presenting itself as a critical conscience and a creative answer to the challenges that the society we live in and its turbulent changes continuously bring to the consolidated paths of scientific research on religious facts. That is why the periodical is particularly careful to mediate, on the background of an extremely lively international debate, between the glorious tradition of historical-critical studies, typical of the European history of religions, and the deep changes that in these last decades took place in the Religious Studies field, above all in the United States. To meet this challenge, together with more traditional issues focusing on monographic themes with articles, reviews and other interventions, the journal intends to publish quite regularly the Proceedings of the conferences organized on the topics chosen by the members of the Scientific Committee and connected to subjects considered of crucial importance.
