This journal, to be published annually and with an Editorial Board comprising the most illustrious scholars in all sectors specializing in the subject, is devoted to mosaic and marble wall coverings and floors. It contains mediumlength scientific articles regarding recent discoveries, new analyses of familiar subjects, iconographic and stylistic studies, interpretations concerning the techniques of execution, the study of materials and chronological, functional and typological evaluations, all linked to the appropriate architectural and decorative context. Articles cover a time span ranging from the Hellenistic period to the Middle Ages, though preferably not extending beyond the XI-XII century. Preference is given to studies concerning works manufactured during the Roman and Late Roman era, certainly more widespread and representative in this geographic area which is considered the home of mosaic and colored marble, that is the Mediterranean basin.
From a cultural point of view, the journal will be associated with the well-known and esteemed "Association Internationale pour l'Étude de la Mosaïque Antique" (AIEMA).
