Divided into sections (articles, debates, surveys, notes, excavations and monuments, activities forming part of doctoral courses, reviews and book notes), the Journal is open to a very broad range of participation and ensures full respect of the values embodied by different perspectives. It will endeavor to act as a forum for publication of works and debates that seek to open up new orizzonti of study and research, deal with topics of elevated scientific content, or review the state of the art in questions of interest to the scientific world. Its themes, while concerned mainly with the classical world, do not preclude attention to Prehistory or the Middle Ages; furthermore, although attention will focus predominantly on the Mediterranean Basin countries that made a major contribution to the civilizations of the ancient world, issues pertaining to cultures that were in contact with such countries will not be neglected. The breadth of vision of Orizzonti seeks to reflect the Journal's policy of cultural openness and the dispassionate freedom of expression it intends to promote.
The dedication of the publisher and the Editorial Board is sustained by the allegiance to this scientific and cultural project expressed by eminent colleagues who are committed to the cause of unbiased and forward-looking research for the advancement of mankind. It is with them that this journey will be undertaken.
