It often happens that scholars of classical philology produce works which in importance and length exceed the standard of articles that normally appear in journals, but are not quite long enough to be published as books. In most cases they are important essays which nonetheless end up in miscellaneous collections or are published as a journal's 'monograph'; both of these can be difficult to find. Following in the footsteps of prestigious 19th-century European journals, Accademia editoriale now offers the international scientific community a new journal, "Philologia Antiqua", which intends to fill a gap in the editorial panorama by offering ample space for scientific research in the field of classical antiquity. Rather like an ideal library of important essays on significant subjects pertaining to the ancient world and Greek and Latin literary production, each issue "Philologia Antiqua" will offer articles written by internationally-recognized scholars, and hopes to serve as a point of reference, also in light of the Publisher's considerable experience in this field.
