Founded in 1986 as a publication of ASFeR (Associazione per lo Studio del Fenomeno Religioso), the review examines the religious aspects in their social phenomenology as a clue permitting to explore the undercurrents of society. Thanks to the work of its editorial staff along with the contributions from elsewhere in Italy and abroad, "Religioni e società" as become increasingly influential and internationally recognized as to be an original means for continuing improvement, updating and documentation on the religious factor in its multiple social implications. The journal is a fourmonthly publication edited with the scientific support of The Department of Social Studies of the University of Florence.
