Russica Romana traces its origins to a city, Rome, and to a country, Italy, both of which have a long-standing tradition of cultural relations with Russia and, to this end, aspires to examine its development and evolution from a point of view which encourages dialogue and comparison.
The goal of Russica Romana is to examine the entire span of Russian cultural history, taking as its focal point literary issues but with constant attention to artistic, historical, philosophical, religious and linguistic issues as well. The journal does not favour any one methodology or critical and ideological approach over another, rather, it is open to all different types of contribution from contemporary Slavistic studies, Furthermore, the journal is not only grounded in the traditions of Italian Russian studies, but it also draws on a productive debate within all areas related to Russian studies throughout the world.
