The periodical, which has been divided into the following three sections of Studies, Remarks and Documents, Reviews - has distinguished itself for its thoroughly investigated results and vigilant control over the neverending bibliographical stream which concerns, either directly or indirectly, the history of the Venetian Republic. Likewise, it must be duly clarified that - despite the Venetianity of the topic - the periodical is not afflicted by local inklings, neither is it suffocated by any microcosmic syndrome. This is why Venice was the richest city in Europe for her significance, "the door of the human kind", as Petrarca said, the "she-pope of every other city" were the words of Pietro Aretino, Studi Veneziani should hopefully make us feel the significance such words again.
