The journal is addressed first and foremost to the academic world, but it also seeks to reach out to high school teachers, the educated reading public in general, and all those who admire Buzzati's work and wish to acquaint themselves more deeply with this writer.
The aim of Studi buzzatiani is thus to maintain an elevated level of critical and philological rigour but - following in the footsteps of Buzzati himself, who attributed great importance to the value of "readability" - without neglecting a commitment to clarity that will make his pages accessible to the widest possible readership.
The sections into which the journal will be subdivided are as follows: Essays and Notes; Historical-Biographical Research; Unpublished and Rare Works; Testimonies and Interviews; From the Tape Recorder; Teaching Experiences; Bibliographies; Reviews; Exhibitions and Events.
Studi buzzatiani is not intended exclusively for Italian readers. Since Buzzati's work is studied and admired worldwide by scholars and aficionados of many languages, each issue of the journal will include at least one article in a language other than Italian, and each article will be accompanied by a five-language abstract: in Italian, French, English, German and Spanish.
