Pasolini's many-faceted artistic and intellectual production (ranging from poetry to narrative, essays, cinema, theatre, translations of classics, journalism and painting), his incredibly lucid ability to provoke, and the force of his involvement preserved even today in his public polemics, have created a unicum in the last century's Italian literary panorama. Especially after his death, interest in Pasolini increased remarkably outside Italy as well, as witnessed by an extensive critical bibliography, translations of his works, the great interest in his cinema, and performances of his plays. However, this unbroken succession of initiatives and studies lacked a reference point, such as a journal dedicated entirely to Pasolini. "Studi pasoliniani" intends to ?ll this gap. The journal will promote research on Pasolini, publishing studies addressed to all areas of his work. It will also offer a systematic bibliographic update, along with information on events dedicated to him in Italy and throughout the rest of the world (cycles of film projections, performances of plays, study meetings, exhibitions and celebrations of various kinds) to be announced in the News column. "Studi pasoliniani" will therefore be an international journal: this expansion has become increasingly necessary, for Pasolini has long been considered a great international author.
