«Studi Rinascimentali» arose from the wave of interest in Humanism and the Renaissance, two crucial eras in our civilization began with Petrarca and continued for nearly two century, until the Protestant Reformation and the Catholic Counter-Reformation. The foremost aim of this Journal is to stimulate the production of authoritative essays, dedicated to analyzing the geography and history of Italian literature, studying the rules of literary communication and reviewing problems of chronological determination. Secondly, «Studi rinascimentali» intends to offer a scientifically sound contribution to the development of a fresh interpretation and synthesis of the Renaissance and its phenomena, starting from various philological and historical contributions, as well as the tradition of texts and manuscripts, and tracing leading figures throughout the penisula and the ancient world. It will also focus on the spread of Italian culture abroad and its interaction with other continental culture, which contributed not only to the identity of modern Italy, but also to the unity of Europe.
