Brought out jointly by Alinari and the City of Paris this book is dedicated to a hundred years of the history of Italian photography. Two hundred pictures take us on a historical and aesthetic journey through Italian photography. The latter in particular was of note in the turn of the century history of photography. The early twentieth century in Italy is commemorated with some of the bestknown photographers of the trends in artistic photography, such as Pictorialism with Guido Rey, Peretti Griva, or the autochromes of Prince Chigi and Roster, and of the avantgarde, such as the Italian Futurism, with Paladini, Wanda Wulz, Castagneri, Parisio up to the representatives of Neorealism so marvelously expressed in Italian photography and cinema.
