Premio Nazionale delle Arti is an important cultural initiative promoted at the national level by the Directorate General for Student Affairs, Development and the Internationalisation of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research. The 12th edition presented in 2017 included a Design section represented by ISIA Faenza, responsible for curating the Prize under the motto Future is Design. Numerous Italian and European schools of design were invited to participate, to shed light on their work and favour the collaboration between participating institutions with the common intention of enriching education and creative research. The themes of this years edition focused on design for all, experience design, innovation and the dialogue between design and the visual arts. In parallel, ISIA Faenza organised a series of collateral cultural events across the territory of Faenza. The Prize was presented in collaboration with the City of Faenza, the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza, under the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the MiBACT - Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, the AIAP - Italian Association of Visual Communication Design, the ADI - Association for Industrial Design, the Region of Emilia-Romagna and the Province of Ravenna. Generous contributions from the Fondazione Plart, Naples, the Fondazione Banca del Monte e Cassa di Risparmio Faenza, the Festival Kerning of Faenza, the A.i.C.C. - Associazione Italiana Città della Ceramica, the Rotary Club of Faenza and Zini Elio of Imola ensured a series of special prizes.
