Apres le deluge. Viaggio fra opere riemerse e misconosciute. A journey through resurfaced and unrecognised works

The exhibition Après le deluge: a journey through resurfaced and unrecognised artworks has been organised to celebrate the important, story-book recovery of numerous archaeological assets, some of which are now on display at the Sanctuary of Hercules Victor and Villa d'Este. The operation carried out at the Geneva Freeport by the Carabinieri for the Protection of Cultural Heritage and Anticounterfeiting has led to the return of a significant number of assets that were illegally stolen and destined for dispersal. In addition to these recovered assets, private collectors have loaned nine artworks so that the public has an opportunity to appreciate their beauty and importance.
