The variety of themes and techniques expresses all the graphic splendour of the works by Leonardo - such as the renowned Vitruvian Man - and that of his best pupils.
Accompanying the 72 plates, a volume with Carlo Pedretti's diligent introduction presents the collection, the attribution methods, the stylistic features and the chronology of the works. This is followed by the history of the collection, a comple-te bibliography, a concordance and watermark tables, and six excursus on specific aspects of the collection. The drawings have been catalogued by Giovanna Nepi Sciré and Annalisa Perissa Torrini and consist of 26 works by Leonardo, 33 by his pupils and followers, and 13 by copyists, imitators and other sources.
