Tania Bruguera (lives and works in Havana and Paris) is a conceptual artist whose installations, environment and social community projects (a school, a political party, a magazine of cultural jamming) have been included in major museums and international biennials. In ten years of intense activity she has linked their languages in the world of communication, politics, art and information as tools to work for a real change. In her work, any medium is an instrument to explore, test, investigate and expose the dialectics of power, censorship, violence, authority and submission, with a humanist and global perspective. The history and the society of Cuba has certainly been the laboratory of departure of her analysis, although now her discourse touches on a more general spectrum, involving the behavior of man in any context he/she has to interact with power and politics. Tania Bruguera lived in Chicago for ten years, where she taught at the Art Institute, then moved to Paris where she teaches Performance at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts
