Horizons in Silvio Wolf's Idea of Light curated by Cristina Casero The Horizons of Silvio Wolf are inscriptions of light generated directly on the photosensitive surface in loose and almost unpredictable forms. They happen prior to any representational image, beyond phenomenal reality: they are pre-cognitive images produced before the photographer takes his first shot, and as such they become language in the mind of the observer. The Horizons constitute one of the most interesting results of the research Wolf has conducted for years on photography and its linguistic potential. In this book they are addressed by reflections that contextualize them in the overall production of the artist, with a particular focus on the fundamental role played by light in the research of Silvio Wolf.
