Rome. Between 1956 and 1965, avant-garde artists Gastone Novelli and Achille Perilli worked in Johnny Moncada's photographic studio in Via Margutta to create the sets for the catalogues of the collections by Luisa Spagnoli, granddaughter of the eponymous founder of the fashion house, writer and art lover. An inspired partnership that placed her ready-to-wear creations in a totally innovative visionary and modernist context.
Fifty years later, hundreds of photos have resurfaced through the reconstruction of the Archivio Johnny Moncada, attesting to a unique collaboration on the Italian fashion scene.
