Dove sbatte la luce, expositions and works 2003-1986, is the title of a volume that covers a period of Alfredo Pirri's work which, seen in retrospect, reveals a creative journey.
A conspicuous number of images show the artist's solo expositions that are linked almost in a narrative while the images of single works create ties between one exposition and another.
The chapters "on the responsibility of art" and "Comments" are made up of texts that the artist has written over the years as an integral part of his activity, expressing his point of view on various different occasions (conferences, interviews, public meetings).
The book is completed with critical essays and theoretical texts that have analysed and explained the artist's work over these years.
Dove sbatte la luce, expositions and works 2003-1986, is neither the catalogue for an exposition nor a general catalogue of the artist's work, it is a book made up of words and images which are related to each other though in a creative rather than merely illustrative manner. A book which tells of the work of an artist through which we can see the efforts of a generation to reach a better understanding of their character and desires.

Alfredo Pirri was born in Cosenza in 1957. He graduated in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, the city where he lives and works.
