Europeans unravelled the secret of producing porcelain in Dresden around 1710. Once this was discovered, a factory was built in Meissen at which this knowledge was applied to produce this porcelain. The book follows the development from its beginning to around 1920 as based on the collection of the Rijksmuseum, one of the most important museums in this field in the world. In addition to ornamental pieces and porcelain service, figures and groups such as porcelain animals are also discussed. Each object is thoroughly described and reproduced in colour. New pieces of information and insights are presented. Meissen Porcelain is an outstanding publication on this famous porcelain.
